For those of you who don't know, I work at the civic center, on the Tech crew. Basically we set everything up for a show, stick around to help run the show, then tear it down.
I knew I worked on a pretty damn cracked crew, but its only just occurring to me on
how cracked the crew is. Like on of those shows about a dysfunctional work place, they might of gotten the idea for some of that from this crew, or something.
Like there's this creepy guy named Paul, who's usually drunk or high, and always late, and alway's
always smells. To freakin high heaven.
Theres Lynn, who toured with the phantom of the opera for ten years. Hes full of interesting trivia, a master in music, and(unsurprisingly) an opera singer. Kinda makes me wonder why he works and the center at all.
Then theres Berry, who has a psyco wife who calls work at the center his "hobby job". But he's pretty nice, and wants a career in music. He's pretty good with the musical stuff too.
Terry, is a behemoth of a man, and is a chain smoker with a seriously warped sense of humor(actually, that fits the whole crew, self included)he's also a substitute so, some you may have met him in school before. All in all he's pretty fun to hang with in-between panic runs.
Sean-Patrick looks like he pissed someone off and they dunked his face in some shrapnel. He's got a ton of piercings, and still going. But hes fun to talk too, and he agreed to help me find a good parlor to get my tat. He's also the next youngest on the crew, after me, at 20.
Sharron is Terrt's girlfriend and a massage therapist. I don't know her too well so I'm not going to give a summary.
Dennis is our very cranky boss, and he always has time to discuss how movies are made and h tell Korea war stories. And he love to talk about the first time he saw star wars.
And last but most certainly not least is Bob. And Bob is simply pretty awesome. He's got tons of tats, the whole sleeve thing, and he's got a joke for everything, and he is actually pretty sweet whe you got an issue, he's pretty willing to help out.
So you see some archtypes? I do. And to top it off, there is this very strange family vibe-ish thing as we work. One pycho-fuck family, but I digress.
And this was brought on by the show the other night, a competition for barbershop quartets(shudders). And NONE of them articulated or sang on key. And we spent an hour, AFTER we cleaned up and packed all the stuff away, making fun of them and the cleft-pallets and hair-lip sounding music(using the term lightly) and actually laughing till we couldn't breath at really bad jokes.
Well, I felt like sharing.
